Apparently a flurry of condemnations is being directed at Ann Coulter over the past couple of days since she made a homophobic remark about one of the Democratic presidential candidates John Edwards towards the end of a speech that she was giving at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. on Friday. According to CNN she apparently said

“I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but it turns out that you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I’m – so, kind of at an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards, so I think I’ll just conclude here and take your questions”

I wanted to pull up her chart to see what was going on in it at the present time, but unfortunately not only do we not have a birth time for her, but the birth date itself is questionable because of some sort of discrepancy over what year she was born in. Apparently most of the media reports on her say that she was born in 1961, but Coulter insists that she was born in ‘63. I was able to find an article that makes a pretty convincing case for the 1961 birth date, and the chart itself with a Sagittarius stellium with Mars conjunct Mercury, the Sun and the Moon seems to match up pretty well with Coulter’s more aggressive and ideological sort of personality. Here is the chart and the transits for the night that the statements were made:

Although we don’t know the birth time, the first thing that we notice in this chart is the highly charged stellium in Sagittarius with Mars and the Sun right in the middle of it. Interestingly the closest transiting aspect that Coulter had on the night of the speech was transiting Jupiter in Sagittarius conjunct her natal Mars within 1 minute of arc. It is this pivotally placed Mars that gives Coulter her fiery and contentious edge, and on this night the expansive planet Jupiter exacerbated this naturally quarrelsome placement and pushed it over the edge.

It is also interesting to note that Mars is currently transiting her natal Jupiter, and the Saturn-Neptune opposition that is going on at 20 degrees of Leo/Aquarius is taking place right on her nodal axis.

The only other really interesting thing to note here is that the lunar eclipse that took place the following night on March 3rd seems to be playing a major role here as well. If we go with 1961 as the correct birth year for Coulter then this means that she is 45 years old, and thus she is in a 10th house profection year. So all of her Sagittarius planets- Venus, Mercury, the Sun, Mars, and the Moon – hand over to Virgo this year, and anything that happens in that sign is of extreme importance. So it is not surprising to see this controversy erupting the day of the eclipse in Virgo as a result of her comments the previous night. The effect of an eclipse usually has about a 6 month time span, so this may actually turn out to be an issue that haunts Coulter or comes up again in some way between now and when the next set of eclipses take place in late August/early September. It wouldn’t appear like this whole episode will really do much to harm Coulter’s career for the most part since Jupiter’s transit through Sagittarius seems to be helping her out quite a bit, but the fact that the next eclipse in Virgo in September happens at the same time that Saturn ingresses into Virgo, her profected sign for the year, may give us reason to pause.
