A number of celebrities appear to have been hit pretty hard by last month’s Mercury retrograde in Pisces/Aquarius , and now it looks like we can add Sylvester Stallone to Mercury’s casualty list as well.

Stallone was apparently in Australia last month to promote his new movie Rocky Balboa when he was apparently apprehended by customs officials at the airport who searched his private airplane and subsequently found five boxes of what is being described as a “growth hormone” or a type of performance enhancing steroid that is apparently illegal in Australia. On March 13th he was formally charged with trying to import an illegal performance enhancing drug into the country and he basically faces a pretty hefty fine, in addition to the embarrassment and inconvenience that the whole episode caused him last month as it was still in the process of unfolding.

What is interesting about this to me is that it happened only a day or two after Mercury stationed retrograde in Pisces, right around the same time that Britney Spears suddenly decided to shave her head and Paris Hilton went through the unfortunate trash throwing incident in Austria. It would appear that Mercury was making some pretty strong correlations with all three of these individual’s charts last month, although it seems like in this particular instance Stallone got hit the hardest, which is not surprising when you look at his transits for that day. The following is Sylvester Stallone’s natal chart with the transits for February 16th on the outside:

Notice that Mercury actually stationed at 10 degrees of Pisces two days earlier, in direct opposition to Stallone’s natal Mars at 9 degrees of Virgo in the 10th whole sign house. He was also having another very close and irritating Mars transit that day with transiting Mars at 22 Capricorn almost exactly square his natal Moon and Midheaven at 22/21 Libra. With his day chart it is not surprising that Mars is the planet that is giving him more problems in both its natal placements and its transits.

Interestingly though, the closest transit that he had that day was actually transiting Pluto exactly conjunct his ascendant. This long term Pluto transit may have had more to do with the stress that he had to put his body through in order to return it to something resembling its original appearance in his role as Rocky, but it may also be a sign of the price to be paid for such a transformation.
