According to a recent article on People’s website former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has recently reunited with his estranged ex-wife Shanna Moakler. The two gained fame as a couple through their reality TV show on MTV called Meet the Barkers, which chronicled their lives as a married couple during its two season run from 2005 through 2006.

Shanna Moakler

According to Wikipedia Shanna Moekler

is an American model and actress. Moakler represented Rhode Island in the Miss Teen USA pageant in 1992 and placed in the semi-finals. In 1995 she was the first runner-up in the Miss USA pageant as Miss New York USA. She received the 1995 Miss USA crown when the winner, Chelsi Smith, became Miss Universe. In December 2001, she was named Playmate of the Month by Playboy magazine.

She was born on March 28, 1975 in Providence, Rhode Island. Her birth time is unknown.

Travis and Shanna were married on the eve of Halloween on October 30, 2004 with a promising looking conjunction of Venus and Jupiter forming in the sky in the tropical sign of Libra, but with the malefic planet Mars placed in the same sign and greater malefic Saturn in a superior position because it was preceding the Libra planets from its position in Cancer. The marriage took place just two days after a lunar eclipse at 5 degrees of Taurus, and a little over a week before Saturn stationed retrograde at 27 Cancer, only a degree away from Shanna’s natal Saturn at 26 Cancer. Thus Shanna’s Saturn return was largely characterized by her marriage to Travis, and this is also true in his case to some extent since his Saturn return occurred only a few months later in the summer of 2005 when Saturn made its ingress into Leo and returned to the same position as it was when he was born at 2 Leo.

Then on August 8th, 2006 Travis filed for divorce after nearly two years of marriage. At the time transiting Venus and Mercury were conjunct the Saturn of the marriage chart at 27 Cancer, as well as Shanna’s natal Saturn at 26. A bitter public argument ensued between the couple through their Myspace blogs over the next couple of weeks, with accusations of infidelity, bad parenting, and mental instability being thrown back and fourth by both sides as being the reason for the demise of their marriage.

The situation and the negative feelings between the two were exacerbated a few weeks later when reports started to come out that Travis was romantically involved with Paris Hilton. Apparently the two first hooked up on the night of August 29th at a party that was being thrown at Pure Nightclub in Last Vegas to celebrate the release of Paris’ new CD. According to the Sun

An eyewitness said: “Before long they were making out on one of the VIP beds. They were groping and grinding with their clothes on. “All her friends and her sister NICKY were there, just looking on stunned.” The pair then headed for strip club Spearmint Rhino. But a source said: “Their steamy show in their limo near the rear VIP private entrance was more sizzling then the lap dances inside. “

Travis appears to have been having an interesting transit of Venus squaring his natal Sun as well as his nodal axis that night, with transiting Jupiter in a tight conjunction with his natal Mercury while Uranus was also forming a close transiting trine. Paris on the other hand was going through a more awkward long term transit with Saturn opposing her natal Venus while transiting Neptune conjoined it in Aquarius. Over the next few days as things started to heat up between the two transiting Venus completed a sextile to her natal Pluto and a trine to her natal Neptune. Ultimately it was an exciting, yet short lived affair for both of them that can probably be best characterized by the fact that transiting Uranus in Pisces was exactly squaring the Venus in their composite chart at 11 Sagittarius during September and October.

For obvious reasons this didn’t sit well with Shanna, and in the early morning hours of October 4th she confronted Paris at a nightclub in LA and some sort of fight ensued. According to the Superficial the incident took place around 1:10 in the morning “when Shanna confronted Paris and started screaming obscenities, at one point punching her in the jaw with a closed fist.” An alternate version of the events according to Shanna is that she did not punch Paris, but that Paris’ on-again, off-again boyfriend Stavros Niarchos poured a drink on her head and then pushed her down some stairs. Not long after the event happened both women showed up at the police station and filed separate reports alleging that they had been attacked by the other.

What is interesting is that Paris seems to have had some pretty easy transits going on that day with almost no hard aspects. On the other hand Shanna did have a few difficult transits going exact that day, such as transiting Venus at 4 Libra opposing her natal Mercury and squaring her natal Mars, thus activating her natal Mercury-Mars square. Also the transiting Sun in Libra was conjoining her natal Pluto at 10 Libra and activating the natal Sun-Pluto opposition in her birth chart. All of these transits were activated because Shanna was in a 7th house profection year, so her Aries Sun and Mercury activate Libra, while her Pluto in Libra activates the Aries planets. Without the birth times for Paris and Shanna it is hard to say precisely what happened that night and which one really did start the fight, but it does seem that Shanna would have been the one who was more predisposed to be in a contentious mood that day and it would not be surprising if she was the one who initiated the incident by mouthing off due to her natal Mercury-Mars square being activated that day, but the fact that the more negative transits show up in her chart rather than Paris’ may indicate that she was the one who suffered some sort of physical injury that night.

By January 13th rumors began to circulate that Travis and Shanna were back together again when they took a trip to Disneyland together and were spotted on the 12th holding hands in public, but days later Shanna issued a statement on her Myspace profile denying that they were an item again and saying that they were only spending time together for the sake of their children. The transits occurring at the time seem to say otherwise though, with transiting Venus squaring her nodal axis, while at the same time making a sextile to her Neptune and trine to her natal Pluto. Travis was having similar Venus transits to his natal Neptune and Pluto that weekend since they were both born within a year of each other, but he was also having a transit of Venus square his natal Mercury. For some reason Mercury seems to be a prominent planet in Travis’ chart when it comes to relationships, and I suspect that if we had his birth time we would be able to account for this reoccurring theme of having transits to his Mercury when his love life flares up. On top of all of this there was a transiting Mars-Pluto conjunction at 27 Sagittarius right around this time that was right on top of their composite Venus. Normally a Pluto transit to a natal or composite Venus can bring an intensification of love affairs, and while Mars does have certain sexual connotations it sometimes acts as more of an opposite principle to Venus and signifies the severing of relationships. So while something may have occurred on this weekend which rekindled the romantic flame between the two, it seems like there would have been some lingering problems there as well that may have become apparent in the following days, especially with the transiting Sun and Mercury opposing their composite Saturn not long after.

Now two months later it has finally been announced that the couple has officially reunited. Apparently Travis threw an early birthday party for Shanna just this past weekend in Miami. According to People

More than 100 guests, including Kimberly Stewart and Mark McGrath, watched Moakler – whose real birthday is March 28 – blow out the candles on her cake while Barker sang an off-key rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Moakler then kissed Barker on the lips while the crowd applauded.

People also quotes Shanna as saying “I’m madly in love with my husband.”

It is interesting to note that this story broke on March 19th, the day of the solar eclipse in Pisces. The prior eclipse in Pisces six months earlier on the 7th of September is when the reports of Paris and Travis’ relationship began to surface. We may also recall that the couple was married within day of a solar eclipse in October of 2004. We might expect that the next eclipse in Pisces later this year around August 28th will bring this couple’s relationship back into the spotlight again, especially since this will be occurring towards the end of the Venus retrograde that happens this summer, only a week before it stations direct at 16 Leo. Additional attention should also be paid to the fact that transiting Uranus is at 15 Pisces right now, approaching a conjunction with Shanna’s natal Venus at 16 Pisces. Transits of Uranus to Venus are often known to bring on very strong and exciting love affairs, but relationships that are formed under such aspects often have a short shelf life and are not known to be long lasting or stable. It may be that once the initial excitement and romance surrounding their reunion starts to subside, the couple will find themselves right back where they left off and still dealing with some of the same issues that made things so difficult previously. One would hope for the best though. Only time will tell.
